The current benefits system still required manual data entry for open enrollment and did not have carrier or payroll files set up with any automation or efficiency. Two separate systems were being used to support and enroll the core and voluntary benefit offerings. Employee communications were all distributed via a manual and paper process separate from the benefits systems.
